Trentham Estate's 'The Family' range of wines are from estate-grown Italian varieties and celebrate their Italian heritage's influence on grape growing and winemaking.

A beautifully supple, finely structured introduction to Barolo - matured in Araldica's cellars in Castel Boglione.

Castagni Reverdito Barolo is brick red in colour with a nose of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, mocha, leather and floral notes. It is full-bodied with bright acidity, lean tannins, and rich flavors of raspberries, cherries, anise, oak and spice.

Aromas of herb, pressed rose, ripe berry and a funky whiff of farm animal come together on this. The firm palate offers tart red cherry, chopped herb and a balsamic note alongside bracing tannins and bright acidity. An earthy, bitter note of game marks the finish.

Franco Massolino has done a wonderful job of marrying change with a respect for tradition. Grapes are sourced from several vineyards in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba, from up to 60-year old vines, resulting in structured, robust and long-lived Barolos.

Medium red in colour with brick tones. On the nose, this wine is all spices and cloves. On the palate, it is lean with a great structure. It has flavours of bitter cherries and earthy liquorice. The finish is good with a lingering persistence in the mouth.

The “Vigna Rionda” vineyard is in one of the best positions in Serralunga: when Giovanni and Renato Massolino decided to buy it, they exchanged it for a larger vineyard. It produces a powerful, concentrated wine, suitable for long ageing.
